So, today marks the end of my first month as a thirty year old. It’s been an interesting month. I’m beginning to wonder if this is what being 30 is like. It’s busy. It’s tiring. And it’s been a whole lot of fun.
I started a running program. Maybe you’ve heard of this sort of thing before. It’s a Couch to 5K program. Now, I actually have no intentions of running in a 5K, but I do know that running is a great way to get into shape, and I’m in desperate need of doing that – stupid 20’s got me all out of whack…
As I write this, I’m about to start Week 3 of this 9 week program, and I’m giving consideration to replaying Week 2 because it was a bit of a struggle. We’ll see. I’m going to push through Week 3, Day 1 and see how I feel. If I can handle it, I’ll just keep moving forward. If not, it’s back to Week 2. One way or another, I’m continuing with the program.
So, my experience as a thirty year old so far has included: sore knees, a mild case of plantar fasciitis (self-diagnosed), lots of sweat, frustrating nights because of the dog, and writing, writing, writing. All in all, it’s been a lot of fun.
